Live Saxophone. Six Musicians. Every Note Played for Real.
There's a reason the saxophone has become the most in-demand instrument on the wedding circuit: nothing else cuts through a room and lifts the energy like live brass woven through a great band. Inferno don't bolt on a sax as a paid extra. It's built into the DNA of this six-piece, threading through every song from soul and funk classics to modern pop anthems, giving the whole performance a warmth and punch that sets it apart from anything else on the roster. When the sax kicks in over Jubel, Superstition, or Signed Sealed Delivered, the dancefloor doesn't just fill. It stays full.
The Sound
Inferno are a fully live band: vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keys, and saxophone, with six musicians playing eight instruments between them. There are no backing tracks. Everything you hear is performed live, and the difference is audible from the first bar. Cheryl fronts the band with a powerhouse vocal that handles Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and Lizzo with equal conviction, and the musicians behind her have collectively played over a thousand weddings, corporate events, and private parties. The soul and funk foundation runs through even the pop and rock covers, giving Inferno a cohesive identity rather than a generic covers-band sound.
Your Setlist, Your Way
The repertoire spans soul, funk, Motown, pop, rock, indie, and dance classics, with a strong selection of ballads for the key moments. Couples can flag favourites and exclusions from the setlist, and the band will learn a first dance with a minimum of four weeks' notice. They'll also learn a father-daughter dance at no extra charge. On the night, the band reads the room and adjusts the set in real time, drawing on years of experience to know when to push the energy and when to change the mood. Because everything is played live, the transitions are organic and the energy never drops.
The Ceilidh
Inferno deliver a proper ceilidh set: up to 40 minutes with called dances, played live on drums, bass, keys (accordion sound), flute, and guitar. The dances can be run as a dedicated block or spread across the evening, whichever works better for the flow of the night. Each dance is called and demonstrated so every guest can join in, regardless of whether they've done a Strip the Willow before.
What's Included
Inferno arrive with a high-quality PA system, digital mixing desk, and LED stage and dancefloor lighting, all included in the quote. Setup takes one hour. Standard performance is four hours with one 30-minute break, giving three and a half hours of live music, with background music provided during the break. Timings are flexible and can be adjusted to fit around speeches, meals, and venue curfews. A DJ extension is available for venues with a late licence.
What Couples Say
The consistency across reviews is striking. Packed dancefloors from first song to last. Guests of all ages on their feet. The sax singled out as the element that elevated the night beyond what they expected. Couples consistently describe the communication in the lead-up as easy and professional, and the band's ability to read the room and adjust on the fly draws particular praise. Several reviews mention guests asking for the band's details on the night itself. The phrase that comes back most often: the dancefloor was never empty.
Who They're Perfect For
Inferno are built for couples who want a big, warm, soulful sound delivered by real musicians playing every note live. If you picture a six-piece band with a saxophone cutting through the room, a vocal that commands attention, and a setlist that moves from Stevie Wonder to Dua Lipa without losing the groove, this is the band that makes that night happen.
