How much time do you need for setup and soundcheck?
We can generally set up in 45-60 mins depending on access when we arrive at the venue.
What are your standard performance times?
8pm - midnight with a 30min break
How flexible can you be if our timings aren't confirmed yet?
Yes there is! For example, if you'd prefer that we play from 7-11, we’ll be happy to do that for you and at no extra cost.
We also offer optional extras that can be booked if you want us to play past midnight.
How long is your break, and do you play background music during it?
We take a 30 min break normally when your evening buffet is being served. We supply music for the break which means your guests will still be able to have a dance. Alternatively, you're welcome to make up your own iTunes playlist and email it to us for us to use.
Can we pick the songs you'll play on the night?
We don’t mind if you let us know if there’s a couple of songs you definitely want us to play, but overall we highly recommend leaving the song choice to the band, we have allowed couples choose the set list in the past and it always ends up being a very mediocre night - scripted, unnatural with no flow.
We know how to work a crowd and we know what songs work best, and when to play them.
Remember your musical tastes will almost certainly be different to your guests, and if you only want us to play the songs you like, it will end up being a very one-dimensional party.
Our advice is, leave it up to the band. We have years of experience and know how to keep your dance floor full all night long.
Will you learn our first dance if you don't already know it?
Yes definitely and given enough notice we can learn another song for you too (eg. Father-Daughter dance).
Can you take requests on the night?
Yes, as long as it’s on our set list we will play it. Even if it’s not we will generally have a go at it anyway!
Can you keep the night going if our venue has a 1am licence?
We offer both a DJ set option and an extension to our live set to keep the night going until 1am. Just ask Coast about booking in these options.
What other add-on options do you offer?
We also offer daytime entertainment in the form of a chilled out acoustic set comprising songs from all your favourite bands and artists. This normally happens between your ceremony and evening meal when you’re having your photographs taken.
Is all the equipment, like PA and lighting, included in your quote?
Yes we bring everything we need.
What do your clients love most about your performances?
We aim to provide you with the best entertainment experience possible, our clients love the fact that we don't mess about - our goal is to keep your guests on the dance floor from start to finish.
As well as full songs, we also integrate medleys into our set which works a treat. Basically, we play about 10 songs within about 10 minutes which means we can cover a lot of ground by playing as many songs as we possibly can during the course of the evening.
Which artists are you most influenced by?
Hard question to answer, 80s, 90s, 00s. Pop, Rock, Metal, Britpop, Punk, Alternative. We love it all. Well apart from Ed sheeran ? ? ...kidding Ed ok ? .
Can you provide a ceilidh set, how long does it last, and can you call the dances for our guests?
Yes can provide up to 40 mins of fully dance called ceilidh.
We explain the dances to keep anyone who isn’t sure of the moves on track! We play live guitar and add in the traditional instruments (fiddle etc) on a backing track.
The songs we usually do are - Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant, Canadian Barn Dance, St Bernard's Waltz and Strip the Willow.
