FAQs

How much time do you need for setup and soundcheck?

We need an hour to load in, set up our equipment and sound check and around 30 minutes to load out after the event.

What are your standard performance times?

Our standard performance times are 8pm-12am. These seem to be the most popular times for weddings and events.

How flexible can you be if our timings aren't confirmed yet?

Yes, of course, we are happy to change timings to suit. Just let us know of any changes you'd like and we'll do our best to accommodate them.

How long is your break, and do you play background music during it?

We take 30 minutes for our break and we would usually take this when the buffet is being served so that people can relax and enjoy the food.

We can play background music through our equipment for the duration of our break.

Please tell us if there's any particular type of background music you'd like or if you have your own playlist, otherwise we usually play a selection of party music.

Can we pick the songs you'll play on the night?

You're welcome to have a look at our song list and let us know any of your favourites and we'll try to make sure they're included on the night.

We tend to be flexible with what songs we play depending on the guests and what seems to be going down well on the night, but if you would like a song played at a certain point in the evening we can easily do this for you.

We are constantly learning and adding new songs to our repertoire so if there's a song you really like we may already know it or be planning to learn it, so please let us know.

Will you learn our first dance if you don't already know it?

Yes, this service is included in the quote and, provided we have enough notice to learn and rehearse a song (we ask for a few weeks), we are happy to play a live version of it for you.

We've never had a problem so far in playing a first dance live but if there was an issue with us being unable to perform a suitable version we can play a recorded track through our equipment instead. Some people prefer this option anyway as they prefer to hear the original song.

Can you take requests on the night?

If we know it, we'll play it!

We do our best to keep all guests happy so of course we'll play any requests that are made on the night that are on our song list. There is a chance, however, that we might not know or have ever played a song that is asked for.

Some songs are easy to learn and play while some aren't and can take quite a bit of practice to get right and sometimes it's just not possible to be able to perform any song on the spot, as much as we'd love to!

Can you keep the night going if our venue has a 1am licence?

Yes, for an additional cost we can provide live music for a further hour. We would take an extra comfort break of 10-15 minutes during the evening if play is extended.

What other add-on options do you offer?

We can also provide a ceilidh set, but there's no extra charge for this!

Is all the equipment, like PA and lighting, included in your quote?

Yes, PA and lighting is included in the quote. We also have a hazer machine we can use if the venue allows.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Our clients love that we play upbeat, well-loved songs that get guests of all ages up on the dance floor.

From the feedback we've received, this seems to be the most important thing for them, they want their guests to have a great time, and so do we.

Which artists are you most influenced by?

Between the five of us there are too many to mention! We do all love 80s music the best though, this is what we grew up listening to and we think this decade produced some of the greatest songs that have stood the test of time.

This can be seen in our song list that features a lot of 80s classics that always go down really well with guests.

Can you provide a ceilidh set, how long does it last, and can you call the dances for our guests?

We can provide a short, 15-minute ceilidh set using recorded tracks of the most popular Scottish dances such as The Gay Gordons and The Dashing White Sergeant. All dances can be called.
