More Songs in One Night Than Most Bands Play in a Month.
Ignition don't do filler. This two-piece wedding band packs their sets with medleys that cram the best moments of the best songs into a relentless run of energy, shifting from indie to rock to 90s dance to Britpop without pausing for breath. The result is a night where guests hear more of their favourites in four hours than most full bands manage in double the time. It's a format built for dancefloors, and the evidence backs it up: review after review, year after year, the same line comes back. The floor was full all night.
The Sound
Ignition is a two-piece built around powerful male lead vocals and live electric guitar, backed by professionally produced tracks that fill out the bass, drums, and keys. The live guitar and vocal cut through the mix and give the performance an authenticity that separates it from a DJ set, while the backing tracks deliver the punch and depth of a much larger lineup. The repertoire runs from 80s and 90s dance through Britpop, indie, rock, punk, and modern pop, with a strong ballad selection for first dances and key moments. The medley format means the set moves fast: you'll hear snippets and full versions woven together in a way that keeps the energy climbing rather than plateauing.
Your Setlist, Your Way
Ignition take an experienced approach to setlist planning. Rather than handing couples a spreadsheet and asking them to pick every song, they work with your preferences and then use their years of reading Scottish wedding crowds to build a set that flows. You flag your must-haves, your vetoes, and your key moments, and the band handles the sequencing to keep the energy where it needs to be. First dances are learned to order with enough notice, and on the night, requests are welcomed and played if they fit the flow. The philosophy is simple: trust the band to read the room, and the dancefloor takes care of itself.
The Medley Effect
The signature move is the medley. Ignition can run through ten songs in ten minutes, hitting the hook or chorus of each before rolling into the next, giving guests that burst of recognition and energy over and over without the set ever losing momentum. It means the 80s fans, the indie crowd, the 90s dance contingent, and the modern pop listeners all get their moment, often within the same ten-minute block. Between the medleys, full-length versions of the biggest floor-fillers give the set its anchor points. The combination of pace and payoff is what keeps the floor packed from first song to last.
What's Included
Ignition arrive with full PA and lighting included in the quote. Setup takes 45 to 60 minutes depending on venue access. Standard performance runs 8pm to midnight with a 30-minute break, during which curated background music plays through the PA (or plug in your own playlist). Timings are flexible at no extra charge. Add-on options include a DJ extension or live extension to 1am, an acoustic daytime set for drinks receptions, and up to 40 minutes of ceilidh with live guitar, traditional backing tracks, and fully called and demonstrated dances.
What Couples Say
The volume and consistency of feedback is remarkable. Across reviews spanning years, the same themes repeat without exception: the dancefloor was never empty, the song selection was perfect for a mixed crowd, and the communication in the build-up was easy and professional. Guests of all ages are consistently mentioned as being on their feet, and multiple couples note that their guests were still talking about the band days after the wedding. The word that appears most often is "perfect," and it's almost always followed by "from start to finish."
Who They're Perfect For
Ignition are built for couples who want non-stop energy, a dancefloor that never empties, and a set that covers more ground than most bands can dream of. If you want a night that moves at pace, hits every era, and leaves your guests breathless rather than waiting for the next good song, Ignition are the two-piece that delivers it.
