Iain Campbell & Joanne Lockhart - Marriot Dalmahoy

TheBig Shoogle were one of the best Ceilidh Bands I have had thepleasure of attending. They were amazing, performance on the nightwas great, they were able to gauge the crowd and manage to keep allinvolved. The communcation and assistance with regards the firstdance was excellent. Honesty was great with regards what they couldand couldn't play as a first dance. Honestly one of the bestbands.... Would recommend them to anyone. Did themselves proud as itis a tough thing to do to trust a band with your wedding, but theywere amazing...

Michelle Brodie & Christopher Weir - One Devonshire Gardens

The eveningwas a great success and I received several comments on how good theband was, and their ability to get people onto the dance floor andthen of course keeping them there. I will certainly recommend themto others and also look to using them for future functions in theMess. Once again many thanks.

The Big Shoogle played at ourwedding on 11 May 2013 and they were great! They were brilliant atcalling the ceilidh dances and Davie (the caller) certainly has thegift of the gab! He encouraged everyone to get up and dance and hadpeople laughing in the process with lines like, 'the next dance is aprize dance... Prise yourselves off your seats and get up to dance!'

All our guests commented on howgood the band was and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them - agreat find!

I’ve heardbands who are great at pop/rock/country/indie covers but couldn’tplay a ceilidh dance to save their lives. You guys are amazing! Youcan play all the Scottish ceilidh stuff AND make it rocky AND playall these other styles from pop to rock to country to whatever!Amazing!

James McJ Audience member The Classic Grand Clutha Vaults Benefit gig Feb 2014

Well, went along to the Clutha benefit gig in The Classic Grand, there weresuch a choice of great bands to choose from on 2 floors, The Mrs &myself were downstairs as it was mostly rock bands and we had a seat,so the bands changed again & again until I heard the next bandwas a Ceilidh band, quite a few were looking around sort of laughingas if how’s this gonna fit in with the night, so there's now quitea few people sitting down waiting, so on comes as expected the usualaccordion, fiddle, drummer & guitarist set up, and then it began, the accordion started then in came the fiddle then this electric rockguitar and ass kicking rock drum beat, and low and behold before youknow it everybody's on their feet standing poking their heads up anddown to see who the hell was making this amazingly blended sound ofrock & Scottish folk, the accordion player’s fingers wereimpossible to track as they rolled up and down the board, and thefiddle was just about glowing to match, topped off with a greatguitar and drums, with bits of Pink Floyd through to Miley Cyrusflung in, hard to believe but true, and all served up for your earsto savour at 100 mph, the whole place became electric, it was amazingto listen to and stunning to watch, I can’t say enough how much weenjoyed this band, We got talking to David (the accordion player) andhis family afterwards and found him such a laugh & such a nicefamily, highlight of the night, so thanks to The Big Shoogle yourtime & talent is very well spent and it shows, cheers.

DearDavie and the boys

I justhad to write to say a gigantic thank you to you all for helping tomake our wedding such a memorable day!  I am still gettingletters from guests and they all say how brilliant The Big Shooglewere - for many it was their first attempt at Scottish dancing (couldyou tell?!?) but they all loved it!  The only sad thing was howquickly it all went - it seemed that no sooner had you started toplay than you were packing up.  A good sign though!

So,thank you so so much for making our special day so unforgettable,

Withkind regards
